He tends His flock like a shepherd, He gathers His lambs in His arms, and carries them close to his heart. He gently leads those who have young. Isaiah 40:11

A whole church prays...

Malia and I had the privilege to lead our church in prayer over the rag blankets that were to be sent to Mali, Africa on May 21st.   We had blankets on the tables where the congregation sat.  We invited them to lay their hands on the blanket, to consider the individual woman who would receive the blanket and her family.
As I looked out over the congregation (the Church)I saw whole families bowing their heads in prayer, hands laid on blankets and we heard the low murmuring of individuals praying.  We lifted up the women's physical and spiritual needs.  It was awesome!!  There was the presence of the Holy Spirit in that place.

Later that week 32 blankets were loaded on to a large cargo container which is headed to Mali. It should arrive sometime in August.

Rod, Malia and I had the opportunity to attend a dinner sponsored by our church,  Christ Community Church.  The event was in honor of the doctors, nurses and staff of the Koutiala Women and Children's Hospital.  It was such a blessing to meet such dedicated people, people who love the Lord and are walking in obedience.  These missionaries spoke of doors opening in Mali to the gospel. It is so exciting to be a small part of what is going on in Koutiala, Mali.

Thank You Jesus for what you are already doing and what you are going to do.  Amen.

Recital fund raiser was a huge success!!!

Thank you to Mrs. Terry Walters!!

Her piano students met the goals of the Malian Blanket Fund raiser, which were to get them to practice their pieces for the recital and also to raise enough money to make a blanket per student (20 students at $15 per blanket). They did it, they raised $300.14.  Way to go students!

Mrs. Walters began the afternoon off by telling of the audience a little about the fundraiser and the hospital in Koutiala, Mali then she introduced Malia and interviewed her about the ministry and how it began.  Mrs. Walters then surprised us with the check for $300.  What a blessing!

After the recital there was a reception with treats and juice and we had set up a table with some of the blankets and a slide show of pictures of all the babies that had received blankets as well as those who have helped at the "Block Parties".  We had many well wishers and even additional donations.  It was a great time. The students did a wonderful job playing their piano pieces and Mrs. Walters was very proud of them all.

Now the question is ...what next?  As I am writing this Malia is sewing her 5th blanket in this batch and I made one myself last week.  We have 10 kits left and the due date to have all blankets done is May 15.
We've begun to receive many of the completed blankets back.

Would you pray for what our next steps should be.  We have this generous donation which will make many more blankets we just want to be good stewards and to be in God's will.

Dear Jesus,  Thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You that we can trust that You are in control and have had a plan for each of us since the beginning.  Lord, guide us with Your wisdom, show us the doors You are opening and a closing.  We trust you with all  our hearts.  We will do the next thing and wait on the Lord.  We are excited to see what comes next.  Thank you for what you are about to do
In Your precious and Holy name
Amen
